  • A structural survey would be essential for all projects before installation. Once a commercial solar design has been put together, we’ll provide all the weight-loading details and it’ll need to be given the green light by a structural engineer.

  • We’ll sit down with you and work out what your energy consumption is; from there we can advise on how many panels you’d need in your solar array in order to meet those requirements.

  • The panels themselves require little to no maintenance, however, cables and other equipment exposed to the elements should be inspected on a regular basis in line with any commercial maintenance protocol. We are able to offer one-off inspections or maintenance packages to suit the needs of any business.

  • Yes, all our installations are MCS approved, and you will be able to qualify to receive what are known as SEG (Smart Export Guarantee) payments from your electricity provider. The amount paid has recently improved greatly due to market competition and you can now get paid in excess of 15p per kWh of exported electricity. We think that you are still better off storing the energy that you generate in a battery storage system because you still don’t get paid as much for exporting power to the grid as you do to buy electricity back again when you need it.

  • It is very unlikely that planning permission would be required for the majority of roof mounted commercial solar panel installations.

  • A battery storage system stores electricity either from solar generation or directly from the grid for use at a later time. You may be able to store surplus energy generated by your solar panels or you may decide to buy electricity overnight using a reduced rate tariff, for use during working hours, thereby giving businesses the potential of greatly reducing your electricity bills.
